FACING THE LIGHT OF HOPE

The New Year, January 2026, has arrived! With it comes an invigorating energy that motivates us to make new plans for our future; plans to start over with a clean slate that will now be filled with positive goals for growth and good physical, mental, and spiritual health. It is a time for setting the stage to take an active part in life, to make things happen, to trim off old destructive attitudes and habits, to cultivate forgiveness for ourselves and others, stepping forward into a brighter future, guided by the Light of Hope!
LOVE OVERFLOWS

Field Supervisor, Tanya D. encourages LOH participant, Luciano N., to embrace his creative ideas. In the home economics class, the assigment was to make pillows, but Luciano thought a cap was a better choice. With a few tweaks still left to make on his invention, we believe Luciano's cap will be a success!

Here at Light of Hope, with loving kindness, we motivate our participants in thinking outside the box and assist them in new and different ideas. Inventions are made of such!

WINTER'S ARTIST
(An Excerpt)

"An awesome scene the artist paints, expert and deft his hand.
Brush strokes swift, he draws with ease. a winter wonderland.
Landscape sketched from memory, heavens and land entwine
Rapidly the scene is set, exquisitely divine."

"Footprints carry profound symbolism as they represent our physical presence and the impact we have on the world. They serve as reminders of our journey and the paths we choose to walk. Footprints can evoke a sense of nostalgia, as they immortalize moments that have passed, leaving a poignant trace of our existence."

TEACHABLE MOMENTS
Support Guide, Mimi, takes advantage of an opportunity to make meal times more manageable for LOH participant, Michael S.
At LOH, any activity can create teachable moments!

"Discipline and diligence are up there on the list, but one of the most important qualities of many really successful people is humility. If you have a degree of humility about you, you have the ability to take advice, to be coachable, teachable. A humble person never stops learning."

THE BEAUTY OF WINTER

THIS MONTH IN JANUARY - 2026

January 1st kicks off the beginning of the New Year, 2026. It is the time when we make resolutions and pray we have the discipline to follow through! May we be diligent in all things.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day - January 19th

"...everybody can be
great, because everybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb to agree to serve...You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love. And you can be that servant."
On this day, January 19th, we commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this great leader, who dedicated his existence to upholding justice and equality for all people. His fight was long and filled with many harsh challenges but he never gave up. Dr. King's legacy will be remembered for all times.

With twenty-four short stories under one cover, "Canterbury Tales" offers some incredibly pleasant reads to enjoy while the winter weather creates a comfortable atmosphere for relaxation.

Poet, Geoffrey Chaucer, created a master piece, which is still celebrated today, in this tale of a group of pilgrims traveling to the shrine of St. Thomas Becket in Canterbury. As they journey, they engage in a contest of storytelling.

With great imagery and humor, you are invited to step back in time and enjoy the voices of a long gone era!
